[BaseCamp] getting Lat and Lon from GEP to BC

Interesting topic. As the sponsor for NE & the Mid-Atlantic states I've
struggled with the precision of the lat/lon coordinates I list.
If I do the memorial itself then oftentimes you'll get routed in weird ways
because the GPS will try to get you as close as possible and sometimes
that's not the most roadworthy way to access the memorial. But if I just go
with the street location closest you're just close and not right on the
memorial.
Usually I try to make sure it's the street location as long as it's pretty
obvious from that location where the memorial is (you've got to be able to
see it). I figure that's better than sending you to a memorial off-road or
needing a hike through the woods because that's what the GPS thinks is
closest. I've had locations which were 25' thru the woods to the street or
50' from the parking lot and if I use the memorial coordinates you're going
to have a stand of trees between it & you and possibly not know where it is
- the parking lot is the preferred and more logical location to list so
you'll see what you're looking for.
I usually provide Steve with upwards of 200 candidate memorials 8-10/state)
and struggle with which coordinates to use. I've often thought I need 2
sets - the memorial itself and the street location closest. But then I
figure it should be something you can figure out if you're in sight of it.
So, which do you prefer - the actual memorial even if the GPS will route
you badly or the closest rideable location within sight of the memorial?
