While in BaseCamp, my route planning is done on the 2019.1 map. Checking the Zumo 550, it says the 2019.1 is what's installed on the Zumo too. Today I loaded a Tour Of Honor route that I had planned to ride. I sent it from BC to my Zumo. BC kicked back a message instantly that says: Routes sent to Zumo 550 were recalculated because they were created on a map that is not installed on the device." Any one have ideas why I get this error message and what I can do to fix things so I do not get it? I have triple checked that the BC planning map and the Zumo 550 map set are each 2019.1. When in BC, as I zoom in to the planned route, it follows the roads exactly -- which it always does. When I got the error message as I was sending the route and waypoints to my Zumo as it was plugged in to the laptop, I clicked on the Zumo in the far left column so the map on the laptop was now showing what is on the Zumo. I zoomed in and the planned route now looks like a track where there are points along the way with straight lines between the points rather than following the road. Any thoughts, advice, solutions for this error message? Plug your Garmin into your computer. It should show you have the update on your 550. Look at the area just below and see the link for your preferences. Now you can select Computer only. It will lead the update into your BaseCamp. Then to confirm, while in BaseCamp at the toolbar across the screen, select Maps. Now you should see the updated maps. If you select 19.1 now your BaseCamp software is updated. Hope this helps! GoodLuck! Not sure why the error message happened at all, considering I did the download the same a few weeks ago and just a few hours ago. Had I waited between installing on the Zumo and then on the laptop, I could understand that Garmin snuck in a new version between my download times. But the downloading is always back to back. It says I have 2019.10. Yeah, it was only 2019.1 last time. On the BC map bar drop down arrow thingy, it say 2019.1 Then if I go to MAPS>MANAGE, in the 'name' column it still says 2019.1 but in the 'version' column it says 22.10 No numbers seem to be matching anywhere. Not sure why the error message happened at all, considering I did the download the same a few weeks ago and just a few hours ago. Had I waited between installing on the Zumo and then on the laptop, I could understand that Garmin snuck in a new version between my download times. But the downloading is always back to back. Anyhow, thanks for the help. Joe Y. western PA On Mon, Apr 16, 2018 at 12:46 PM, Stephen! wrote: > > > > Once I had the maps loaded, I sent the route to my Zumo > >again. I was playing around with some smaller routes this morning. I loaded one to the Zumo and got the error message again. WHAT? I was a bit flustered, since everything worked fine after I reloaded the maps. So, very slowly, I walked myself through the process of sending a route to my device from BC. I am embarrassed to say that I think the error message from BC was probably user induced. This morning I sent a route to the Zumo and got the error. Then I cleared everything and tried again, but this time sending it to the external storage card. Ta da, it worked fine. I even previewed the route on my Zumo screen and it was exactly the same as the one on my laptop in BC. The take-away for me is that I need to load my routes to the external SD card. It must have something to do with the Zumo holding part of the North America maps and the external card holding the other part. But I'm not going to try and guess what that something is. I just need to remember to load routes to the memory card, not to the device.
