I can't find it, so it may be my aging mind playing tricks on me. I have tried Google searches and haven't come up with the answer yet -- still looking. I am planning some trips with some time sensitive waypoints, based on time zone boundaries. Some states have multiple time zones and I'd like to be able to see, during my planning time with BaseCamp, just where my waypoints fall relative to the time zone boundaries. That way I can make notes on my tankbag sheets to be aware of the impending time change. I don't necessarily need the boundaries transferring to my GPS device. I know my GPS stays on my home time zone unless I physically change it during a trip. So, for route planning purposes, how do you get time zone boundaries to show on BaseCamp maps? I've been using GEP since the first day the free key was released. It integrates just fine. No need to have it open, no need to export kml files. Some folks had issues early on but there was a fix (not a work-around) published early on. Apparently, according to Garmin, no work around is available for the latest version and their only answer is the "Save a kml file" route. Fortunately I never needed to fix anything, it just worked. P.S. I am running GEP 7.1.2.2041 and am avoiding the "Upgrade" being offered every time GEP loads. It works just fine (even if the new "Photos" layer is a piece of shit). And yes, you are correct, KML is the file type that GE saves its data as. So importing KML into GE makes it a quick upload and creation of a route/waypoints on GE. So what I do: -open a new List in BaseCamp, so I have a blank sheet to start from -find the route and/or waypoints that I want to view on GE in whatever BC List that I already have them in. -highlight said routes/waypoints in that BC List and drag 'n drop them into that new blank BC List -from that new blank List, go to File>Export and export the selected items or the entire List depending on what all I have selected to view on GE -when Save As that exported file, select KML as the file type. Remember where you save it. -open GE -go to File>Import in GE -browse for that saved exported file and click Open -TA DA The route and waypoints then show up on GE.
