I’ll give it a try. To completely remove the data the following has always worked for me on Zumo 665, and BMW Branded Navigator IV and V (Zumo 6 series). I have not used a Zumo 395LM, but I believe it is the same for the other Zumo models as well. On the GPS device, go to: Tools > My Data > Delete Route(s) (the path may vary depending on the Zumo model) Select the Route(s) you want to delete. This is where you will see an option to "Select All" and "Delete All" as Gerry mentioned. Deleting Route(s) will also delete the associated Way Point(s). If you want to delete Favorite(s) do the same using the Delete Favorite(s) option. >> NOTE: This operation will only make the Route(s), Way Point(s) and Favorite(s) no longer visible on the GPS. It does not actually remove them from the storage on the GPS and thus they continue to take up storage space. << Next connect the GPS to a computer. Base Camp is NOT needed, but it’s OK if it is running. Once the GPS is recognised use the file system navigation for your platform (PC or Mac) and navigate to the Garmin Folder and open it. Look for a folder named GPX (it most likely will contain two or three files all ending with .gpx). Delete the GPX folder. If you have an SD card installed the GPX folder may be on it (depends on how you have selected where Route(s) are saved to). Don’t worry about deleting the entire GPX folder. The next time you start up the GPS or upload Route(s), Favorite(s) etc. to the GPS, the folder will be recreated automatically. >> NOTE: Next comes the interesting part that seems to vary depending on computer platform, operating system, Garmin voodoo and who knows what. But have no fear. << Go to the trash and empty it so the GPX folder is no longer seen in the trash (or Bin, or whatever it is called on your platform). Now the GPS storage space will be freed up and the Route(s), Way Point(s) and Favorite(s) will be actually gone. >> NOTE: Here’s the weird part. I have read on Garmin official forums and other forums that not only must you empty the trash, but you must restart the computer after emptying the trash or the Route(s) Way Point(s) and Favorite(s) files in the GPX folder will not be removed from the GPS - the GPX folder will still be on the GPS with the .gpx files. I have indeed found this to be true in the past, but not always. Now, as a matter of routine, I just restart the computer (I use an iMac) just to not need to screw around and have to repeat the process. Although, I have found that more recently this is not needed. Maybe related to a newer Mac OS - no idea. << Hope this helps YMMV Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best Regards, Dennis C. I have noticed with my 478 if I delete "Points" from within the GPS then immediately transfer new points, the old points are still there after the transfer. The only way I can ensure the points are really gone is by power cycling the GPS after deleting the points I want gone. -- There is no need to tailgate me when I am doing 50 in a 35... and those flashing lights on top of your car look ridiculous.
