Message-ID: Hi Had a major glitch of some sort with BC yesterday. When I initiated it in my normal process, it opened but MY COLLECTION was completely blank. Everything was gone. I messed with it a bit but conceded that everything was gone. Fortunately, I could use a backup. Unfortunately, I do not backup files all that often. So, lesson learned the hard way..... Note To Self: backup more often. My question is, where does BC store info on my C-drive? If I went into Windows Explorer, where could I find the folders and files that are stored in MY COLLECTION in BC? (When I do backup files, I know where they are. And I understand exactly what is there because I name the backup files.) But, if one were to open Windows Explorer, and start looking at the outline of folders, where would you be able to see the default place that all of the BC files/folders are on the C-drive? Just curious. There's a shortcut to it. In windows file explorer address bar, type %AppData% and hit enter. Not sure about being able to restore this from past file backups. It's worth a shot, since your stuff is all gone anyway. Always good to do File, Backup in Basecamp periodically, and make sure that file is somewhere safe. In-Reply-To: References: <03F4CF52-B6B4-4313-9926-BE9835EF91B6@gmail.com> Message-ID: Thanks all. Well, there's quite a few 'hidden' files that I can see in the outline list now. Unfortunately, I don't know enough to start poking around to see if I can find "stuff" that was in MY COLLECTION last week. I see the dates that files were created, but nothing simple enough for my non-geek brain to follow through. Using my backup got BC working again yesterday, I'm just missing the new stuff that I put in since my last backup. Leaving well enough alone for now. Virus-free. www.avg.com <#DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2> On Sun, May 31, 2020 at 11:27 AM Jerry White wrote: > In windows file explorer, it's in the View menu to see hidden files. > > There's a shortcut to it.
