I recently spoke to the Shell rep about this as I deal with them here at work extensively.
Three of their guys have been using Rotella in their bikes for years now and the new formula is still good for bikes.
 Shell does make a specific bike oil, it is only avail. in Europe. A Ducati shop in Toronto has been importing the Shell bike stuff by the skid load and reselling it for 30$/litre!! The synthetic Rotella is double the price here even after currency exchange so I get it at the Crapmart in upstate NY.
