shims... what a friggin' pain!

  Can you elaborate -I can't visualise how you use this? Yeh I'm stuupid..It 
seems it would just dangle from the pick no?
   I think maybe I got this from another lister..I use a piece of sheetmetal 
slightly wider than the shim. the last 1/2" bent at an angle. Put grease on 
this section - place the shim on and then place over the valve and us a 
wiping action to get it off. It is then sitting on top of the pocket - tap 
it with a small screwdriver until it drops in place. If you tap it too hard 
in one place  it will cock and not go in..
