which hyperco spring for the ZX-9R shock?

Well I got my Hypercoils spring and installed it on the Fox
twin-clicker ZX-9R shock last night. It was a bit tricky as the new
spring is quite a bit longer than the one that came on the Fox... like
2 inches longer. I'm confused by this, but hope it will work. I could
juuuuuuuust get the spring retaining clip installed back on the shock
body with the spring in place. That's after raising the preload ring
to the very top of the shock.

I'll post a pic when I can... but in the meantime, does anyone imagine
problems with a spring so long it runs the whole length of the shock
body? I turned the preload ring down a few turns to get it on full
threads...
