Its standard on all UK bikes. Its an extention of the cooling system, routed
through the carbs to stop carb icing. Although I don't have a UK manual
mines a US one, so I cant comment about that.

BTW: If you look at the generator, there is a hose with a tube looking 
thing going down in front of it. It's connected to the carbs, and I was 
told it's a carb heater mechanism. This is standard on the German 
versions and even described in the German manual. Anyone else have this? 
It's not on mine and it is not mentioned in my version (the English) of 
the manual either although it does appear on the picture of the "Other 
than US and Canada models" on page 1-5.
