I wouldn't use old race tires on the street. I've raced (still do) and the oil burns out of them making them very hard, harder than new street rubber. I've used old race tires on the street and they are cool for burn outs and sliding out of turns but not going fast and staying up IMHO.

Three track days... I personally wouldn't buy them unless I was really
desperate for rubber, particularly if he's an aggressive rider. Lots
of heat cycles... they're probably cooked, IMO.
