When e-mailing a link, you can either go to http://tinyurl.com/ and  
enter the url you wish to shorten. Or, just enclose the long url in  
less than & greater than brackets like this <http://www.ananova.com/ 
news/story/sm_2517312.html?menu=news.quirkies>. That prevents the url  
from "wrapping" and becoming incomplete or forcing the recipient to  
copy and paste.
