Yes--put the lube between the pads and the rotors stops the knocking,
squealling, hammering but not the bike. It does keep the rotors from
rusting. Probably a little more effective non stopper than a power wash to
the brake drums on a '66 Honda 305 Super Hawk.
Didn't have this same non stopping with my '59 Matchless 650. Matchless had
built in a safety device- Lucas the "Prince of Darkness" electrics. By the
time the Lucas system had dried so the bike would start the brake drums and
pads were dry.
