Nah, I don't like the looks of that either. I guess I'd sand them down and repaint with black heat resistant paint. I don't think chrome would look right though.

Pipe wrap it might be the fix for that.

Very sharp. The only thing I don't like about those is that the pipes are almost always rusty and ugly.
