I was thinking it might be nice and simple and cheap --a holed or broken vacuum line going into the valve cover. I nearly had a heart attack a few years back after doing a valve adjustment and not fully seated a vacuum line. When I fired the bike up it sounded like an HD with slash pipes. Unfortunately Bill yours doesn't have the same sound. Jim
