Brake pad recommendations

I find the brakes are quite good.  Maybe you could clean your pads with carb
cleaner or such.  I like EBC pads personally.

I think mine got sprayed with fork oil from a leaky seal and I'm not 
happy with their stoppability. I can't nail the front wheel into the 
road and I'd like to. Or is this just a heavy-bike thing and it'll 
always take a bit of stopping?

Any recommendations, or is it a bit personal taste and 
how-long-is-a-piece-of-string ?
