carb questions

Tom,
Others here have more knowledge than I, but:
1. Use the original springs, not the kit springs. Lots of people had
issues with the kit springs.
2. I'd go back to the stock 2.5 turns and tune from there.
3. Are those nipples the ones for the carb synch hoses? Yes or no,
they should be at least covered.

I got it dryed up and did a compression test, and it was fine. I noticed the vacuum switch was in the middle (my 2 year old has been playing in the garage). Anyhow, I placed the jets, rods and springs. Someone else had the screws uncovered from before, and they were 4 turns out vs the 2.5 the instructions say to do. Before I put them back on, anyone have any tips to make this work the best possible way? No exhaust mods, so I used the smaller jets included. Also, I didn't notice these before, but there are 2 plastic nipples, one between 1 and 2 and one between 3 and 4. They aren't hooked up to anything I can tell. Seems weird and just wanted to know if they were supposed to be wide open like that. Thanks Tom Louisville
