Plugged tire

I've done it on several occasions.  I've never had a failure (knock on 
wood).  I simply treat it as a one-step down in speed rating for the tire. 
Currently running a plugged tire on my '80 CB-X and have no intention of 
replacing it.  Did 500 miles last Saturday....
