Time for new tires

So I'm riding on a patched rear tire,  a Pilot Road that's apparently no longer available. Since the tires are down 50% I'm looking to replace the set. Anymore it seems I mostly use my bike for commuting to work (76 miles round trip) but I still like occasionally getting out on the weekends and having fun and riding 2 up with my wife.


Anyone recently buy new tires and what do you recommend? I'm having a VERY hard time finding the 170/60zr17 rear tire size. Anyone try riding a 180/55zr17 and if so, how did it work out?
