I went ahead and re-installed the original handlebars after not missing
them in the least for sixteen years.  I also added a pair of 1 1/4"
(32mm) risers.  Then I took the bike out for a short spin.

I will immediately and forcefully reminded how much I detested those
things back then.  What in the world was Kawasaki thinking? My arms are
well under 3 feet (1m) long and getting to the controls is a
chiropractor's wish list item.
