Today I sold my GPZ. It has been a sad day...

I bought her new in 1995 at Sindt Honda in Dubuque, IA for $7999.00 and 24 years later I sold her to Al's Powersports in Victoria, MN for $1350.
She lived with me in Iowa and at one point she had to spend an entire winter outdoors because we had no garage.
She moved up to Minnesota with me in the back of a semi, and finally found a home in my garage in 1997.
We rode together when the weather was nice... very rarely in the rain or cold.
I added a few things to her throughout the years - handlebar & mirror extensions, Corbin seat, taller windscreen, Throttle-meister, etc.
We took a long ride in 2004 to attend a "family reunion" at the Durango Fandango and she performed like a champ.
She NEVER touched the pavement, ever. She was a very reliable and comfortable bike - almost like when you are with your best friend.
But this spring something changed. Something was different. I could tell right away when I took the cover off her that something wasn't right.
I tried and tried but nothing seemed to work. The ole girl wasn't running - she never came back to life after the long winter sleep in here in Minnesota.
I tried to resuscitate her, but unfortunately I just wasn't willing to throw more money into keeping her alive.
So I made a call to a dealer that had offered to buy her back in 2017. He drove up this afternoon and trailered her away.

Today I sold my GPZ. It has been a sad day...
