Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year! The GPz is running as well as it ever has, and my only complaints are cosmetic. Rash on both sides from tip overs years ago, and the Corbin seat needs a new cover. Any other issues were that way when I got it, and it starts reliably every time unless I neglect the battery. My bigger issue is the difficulty I have manhandling it in the parking lot with my arthritic left hip. But I may go for a ride today.

Best wishes for a prosperous and healthy year!

A trip to Luxembourg in May, northern Italy in July and the Harz (Germany) in August - not to mention a lot of shorter or longer domestic trips here in DK. The odometer now reads 223.000 km (138.600 miles) and she's still going strong - mostly. When she is ridden on a weekly basis she runs as smooth as ever, although the amount of power uphill is not what it used to be. But if she has been sitting in the garage for weeks or months at the time, the compression in the cylinders is so low that it can take quite a while to get her fired up ;)

I had planned a trip to southern France in June, but there was a long period of time in the early summer where heavy and violent squall lines dropped 40-80 mm of rain or golf ball size of hail in a couple of hours, ripping trees up by their roots, flooding streets, camp sites etc. at least every second day somewhere in western Europe. I have tried once to have my tent blown away in the middle of the night and I'm simply getting too old for that s... - ah, sort of thing... ;)

I'm also going to take the front apart and have a look at the steering head bearings. She feels kind of stiff if she hasn't been out for a while. Maybe I'll have to have the bearing replaced. Oil change etc. was done in the autumn, chain and sprockets are in good condition, tires also, so there is not so much to do.
