I’m very happy with the choices. IMO a better quality would get lost in the distraction of the event.

Wine is good.  And I’ll bring some peaty scotch.

The proximity of a riding event prompted me to review the maintenance schedule of Thing1 and Thing2 expecting to find some weekend-consuming service was due.  I was alarmed to find both bikes in dire need of being ridden more.

I was just out on Racer ... Running brilliantly! I'm not exactly sure how a bike rated at <55 HP can blast along so well at 70-90 mph, but there you have it. However, I'm thinking I'll likely run up in the Stealth Spaceship so I can carry my bicycle along too. Decisions, decisions...!

Quite happy with the wines!  I am still red-biased.  :-)

The Ducati has new front suspension.  Better!  Still need to dial it in, but now I have dials  (fully adjustable forks — adjustments external for fun and back-2-back comparison)

I've heard too many stories of people being screwed on their taxes this year. It sux, like most anything to do with our government these days. I won't go on.

Well, I hope you recover quickly from the IRS horror and get out for a visit. I'm not sure when I'll be back your way again, but it could happen later in the year. This time when I'm out there my schedule will be different so there should be plenty of time to get together for a visit at least.

Does anyone remember the name of the place with the natural gas pumped through the tiled cauldrons around which partons sat while their order was taken by a waittress in a very long black dress with strategically placed slits? I believe it was on Bandley. I also believe it closed not because it was a cultural anachronism in a rapidly progressing town, but because a fantastic Indian restaurant opened up just a bit further down the road which appealed much more to Apple engineers than did a bit of leg.

Hmm. I don't remember any place on Bandley like that. I do remember the Peppermill (corner of 280 and DeAnza, in front of the campus where the BJs is now...) which always seemed like a set out of an Italian gangster movie, and the lovely Japanese restaurant that used to be on the corner of Bandley and Alves, now there's a huge (Apple) Caffè Macs on that site.

Jughandle costs for food and lodging expenses

2 nighter = $180 /per person with beer/wine or $160. /per person (no alcohol)
3 nighter = $280 /per person with beer/wine or $250. /per person (no alcohol)
(3 nights cost more per diem because fewer people split the lodging cost)

I've already sent the check for the deposit.

I’ve signed up for Saturday breakfast, but in the interest of giving someone else the opportunity if so desired, I’m happy to be kitchen help instead kitchen cook.

Assuming no takers, my menu will be similar to the last two years — gluten free buckwheat pancakes, fruit salad, bacon (need a cook!), scrambled eggs. I may substitute a strawberry sauce for blueberry sauce for the pancakes, or make both. And I’ll make sure Saul (and whomever else has a preference) gets thin pancakes!

Seeing I won't be up until dinner time-ish Saturday, is there someone I should hand them off to so they have a better chance of being used?
