Hopefully the list is also now a bit more clear on what needs to be purchased in Fort Bragg. Note to whoever is doing the shopping Friday, the items currently on the list are needed for Saturday morning. Also, if ice cream is on one of the dinner menu’s, can we have a non-dairy vanilla bean option, preferably coconut or almond (but soy will work as well). If there is leftover blueberry or strawberry sauce (from the pancakes), ice cream is a great way to finish it off! :-) The strawberry sauce would also be good on chocolate. Regarding a Costco shopping run, I’ll make one more run tomorrow to get strawberries, blueberries and grapes. This, and the fruit already purchased, should cover us for the weekend. If folks would like bananas, these are cheap at Costco. Is there anything else that I should pick up? I will NOT be purchasing eggs, as they are too bulky to transfer. Thanks Angela!!! BTW, I was planning on bringing gluten free pasta regardless, likely Pasta Joy brown rice fettuccini style. If that works, I’ll keep to plan. And I’ll also pick up one spaghetti squash because I too like that. It’s easy — bake and scrape. It sounds like we have a plan! I’ll likely make enough pesto for the main veggie heads plus additional for everyone to have as a side if so desired. Are we good? :-) If so, I think the only other thing we need to determine is salad fixings and/or sides, including bread for those who want it. Joanne, are you bringing up Maura bread? Thanks all! Cicero) Date: Mon, 27 May 2019 23:20:10 +0000 Subject: [Sheepranch] Everybody loves a refund Message-ID: Hi all, Thanks to everyone for making this another great year of Jughandling. With the uncertain condition of Usal Road and and unplanned tire deflation we had an uncommon amount of time for hiking and porch sitting which let us all catch up with one another and breathe the fresh air, how 'bout that pygmy forest! I had never done that hike and I loved it. Keep an eye on your PayPal account. I'll be sending out the refunds today. Refunds, so much better than asking everyone to put in another tiny amount. The spreadsheet of the Jughandle weekend expenses and charges will be posted. While I had your money in my pocket I went to Sparks and put it all on red, won big but ended up breaking even what with the hotel, escort, and bail money needed. Here's the basic breakdown of what you're being charged: The room cost, Friday $61.05; Saturday $57.84; Sunday $65.41 (Why?) Friday is the normal price for 18 people, Saturday they gave us a break and only charged us for 18 when we had 19 and Sunday is the minimum charge divided by 14. The food cost, totalled $677.71 Minimum waste and a donation of the lovely Friday supper by Martin and Ed made this a thrifty year for food. Thank you! This divided by 51 total food instances (total people x days) and charged back to you multiplied by the number of nights stayed. There is a little socialism involved in this calculation but anything more granular would have me putting an honor box in front of each dinner plate. Finally the Alcohol cost, $459.94 thanks to Paul for finding really wonderful and distinct choices for an economical yet delicious array of wines which made it only $9.39 per day for the drinkers. Again socialism, my advice if you are a cost-conscious drinker - drink more wine! However, your liver may disagree. Thanks also to Eric for donating his home brewed Trippel, it tasted so good while hanging out on the back porch. Cheers to Lee for the tasty magnum. Hats off to Ed and Martin for the special cocktails and Godfrey and others for the whisk(e)y which I only sampled due to wanting to not go to fast into turn one. The amount collected from you, $4420. The amount of expenses, $4251. It's not quite a simple divide by 19 but is close to that. Some drank, some didn't, some were there Friday, Saturday or Saturday, Sunday, and some were there Friday, Saturday and Sunday. But everybody will get a refund this year! The math is in the spreadsheet, thanks to Robert for showing me how to set that up. It was fun to be your "organizer." Special thanks to everyone who shares a room with a friend and no benefits - your sacrifice makes it possible that more people can attend. Appreciation to everyone for helping with the final clean-up and being so tidy and careful with the place in general. Michelle and Warren always compliment us on our civilized behavior for a biker gang. Seriously, we are a favorite group. I will be happy to Poo-bah again if elected, please send suggestions, complaints, beefs, and kudos as you like, either to this list or to me at . We have our reservation for next year, May 1,2,3. Watch this space for the green flag. Hugs to you all, Linder L.A.
