I’m reading “The Night Manager” by John Le Carre. At the beginning of chapter 4, 1st line in paragraph 4, the word “chary” is used to express a British Cabinet member’s reticence about funding a covert operation in a former colony. Le Carre wrote this book in ‘93, good read so far.
Under the heading of staying busy, I have a garage full of projects. There is a Guzzi to finish, a corvair to restore and a cafe bike to build... the main issue seems to be that the garage is unseated and during this winter/spring of our despair, the daily temperatures are high 30s to low 40s... it sucks in other words☹️.
Stay warm,
Stay safe,
Kathie and Roland

Or from when I was studying Old English, since according to the OED it is a derivative of the Old English word "caerig", kind of the root of the modern word "caring".

In light of that I've put us on the calendar for 3 nights next year on May 14,15,16, 2021. I did this quickly because people are now rescheduling cancelled weddings and other events they have on the calendar there for this year. I have not cancelled for this year but it seems like I should.
