A cow orker texted me last weekend with a link to a YouTube video on The Latitude Society; said I might enjoy it.
In case you don't know, TLS was a participatory performance art event that sucked quite a few people into believing they had actually joined an exclusive secret society. Kind of like when you try to pull someone's leg and it comes off in your hands. Full 90 minute documentary on YouTube.
But that's not what's important. The important part is, during the documentary, when the narrator says the members were told to drive to this address in Mendocino for a meeting, they show a Victorian farmhouse which looks suuuper familiar, a guest signin book and interior footage which also look suuuper familiar, and an informative corkboard that says Jughandle on it which sent it home.
I don't know if the group actually met there or the filmmakers just used it for some filler footage, but they did meet at these cabins close by which were built for the creator of TLS:

The whole story is about as Bay Area as it can get, for me.
