eddy and I share a parts bike and have some real plastic, too.
I made a few trial parts from carbon and fiberglass.  Tricky.  None were perfect.  The mold is most critical, no surprise

Right, I was riding in the woods this past weekend and noted that the bike felt fat in the middle. I think this was from the Corbin, not from the tank or frame design. It forced my feet to the outside of the pegs.

The stock seat IS better for riding in the woods. It makes it easier to ride standing up.

Stock Seat is good for about 75 miles. After that you rather be walking.

I have a Corbin, it's pretty beat up.  I'd like to have a stocker more for off road work. I'm also planning on sending the Corbin back to be recovered and maybe have a passenger back rest installed so I would use the stocker during that time.

I buy stuff from China, I just got a flasher relay from there for $5.  Shipping included.

It costs me $30 to send a small flat rate usps box to europe & my friends over there tell me that's cheap compared to what they pay. $23 to ship a seat to the u.s. is crazy cheap.  How much for the seat? Stock seat kind of sucks. Don't you have a Corbin?

So, from what I can tell the American part number for the fairing stay and the center fairing are the same as the 1993 Honda Transalps that were sold in Europe.  So, it looks like we got the update first.

Also, I am looking at buying a stock seat from Germany or France or someplace (some country involved in WW2) and the shipping to the USA is 23 Euro. So, conceivable that the shipping for the fairings is $30.

If that’s true it might be even better than the old skins because they don’t always want to stay together properly up front, especially after a few wacks on trees or rocks in the woods, etc.

I think the underlying support is the same. So, that should prob work esp. if you get the sides to go with it. If I needed fairings I would look into it, but it is someplace to start.

Very cool! However, the front cowling is not the same as the U.S. ’89-90 model. They’re listed as ’87 but I’ve never seen an '87 to see if they’re like the ones in the photos or not…

I cannot say if it is legit but it sure seems legit to me. The website doesn't look fly by night and it's pretty specific. I emailed the guy and he got back to me pretty quickly.  I asked if he could have fairings painted locally and he quoted me $150 euro.  Not to go too deeply into this but the nature of the exchange didn't set off any alarm bells for me.

Lately I have noticed that shipping from Europe is cheaper than it was.  I just ordered some dirt bike armor from England and even with the shipping it was cheaper than I could get it in the US.  Also, I think the Greek economy is in the tank. So, it's sort of like arbitrage.

Sure it's legit? Those prices are really cheap & they quote 30 Euro to ship the entire 3 piece fairing to the U.S. I get small parts from Italy & the Netherlands & it costs that much.

Good News!  Here is a source for new fairings!

http://www.perfect-fairings.co m/en/products/listed/manufactu rer/HONDA/model/HONDA+XL+600V+ TRANSALP+1987/page/1

I've been in touch and they sell fairings and ship to the USA.  Fairings come in white gelcoat.
