Temperature guage readings vs. operating temperature

In many cars, the the needle is made to be in the middle for a fairly wide temp range, same applies to oil pressure. If it is within an acceptable range, it is in the middle. Not sure of that applies to the Geeper

Soon after I bought my '95 I mentioned the low temperature reading and was told, "Relax, that's just the way they are".

Given the many kms., extreme reliability and minimal oil consumption, I'd have to say that the low temp reading it must be working well for it and maybe that should be enough... Still my Volvo's temp gauge reads exactly on the middle point of normal and I've never seen it move more that the width of the needle either side of the mark regardless of the temperature, low or high and somehow I find that comforting... Go figure!

In the 10 years I owned mine I only saw the heat gauge in the high of
center range once. This was in stop & crawl traffic in Poplar Bluff
Missouri on my way to Hot Springs Arkansas. According to the
date/time/temperature display at the Bank of America it was 104 F (40
C). But the temperature dropped below center within 3 km once I got
on the highway.
A few bikes were out yesterday but there's too much winter sand on the
roads to suit me.
