Temperature guage readings vs. operating temperature

Things to like about GPz;
No dipsticks
Cool running
Reliable
Fast and good fuel consumption
Easy maintenance (thank you shim kit)

Got full stroke on temp gauge (and pulse!) after changing antifreeze. Didn’t vent return side to thermostat, so likely boiled off a bit to get thermostat to open, then all good.

Sight glass oil level changes from cold start to running temp. Give it time to settle like at a gas stop/coffee break. I’ve added too much once. Had to drain crankcase after fuel dilution. Always run an in-line fuel filter.
On the 1700 Voyager, oil has to be hot, bike level, to get correct reading on dipstick, after about 5 minutes shutoff. Follow owner manual instructions.
