[BaseCamp] How do I join routes?

Additional comments on joining routes. Note, this applies to the most
current Windows version (4.4.6), I cannot confirm Mac behavior.

The routes will be joined in the sequence they were selected using the
Ctrl-Left Click and more than two routes can be selected.

Before joining, Basecamp displays a dialog which allows you to rearrange the
sequence of routes to be joined.

After joining, Basecamp displays a dialog asking if the original routes are
to be retained or deleted. So it is not necessary to make duplicates of the
originals prior but is certainly a very good practice.

If your original routes have different Activity Profiles, the original
Activity Profile will be retained between the waypoints of the original
route in the new joined route. You will see "Mixed Travel" as the profile
for the new route.

The original routes do not have to be contiguous (ie, ending and starting at
the same waypoint); Basecamp will "fill in the blank" between the two
original non-contiguous route. It appears that the "fill in the blank"
segment assumes the Activity Profile from the trailing or second route in
the joining sequence.


In the same manner, it is possible to join tracks.

Hmmm.      Anyhow, how I make two routes into one combined route is:
1.  select the first route desired, right click and Duplicate.
2.  select the second route desired, right click, select Duplicate.  Thus,
the originals are preserved.
3.  highlight one of the duplicates, then hold down Control key and left
click the mouse over top the other duplicated route.  Now both are
highlighted.
4.  right click over either one and select Join The Selected Routes.
Presto, chango, it's done.
