Yup,  this feature seems like a good thing when doing rally planning....esp. when the start/end or start/checkpoint  is the same.  How far out can you go and get back in time.

Bill, that makes sense to duplicate the waypoint for the rings....I was trying to type 250, 500, 750 in various ways.....but your way will work. 
It's defaulting to miles, so that's good.

I set 'concentric rings' by making copies of my Waypoint then changing the Proximity value of each.
Ex: "Waypoint 100" = Proximity 100mi "Waypoint 250" = Proximity 250mi. Etc.
Regarding the 250 = 250,000 what indicator are you using? km? mi? ft? You do need to add the measurement unit to the number.
I am using Basecamp 4.4.6 on Windows Vista.

That helps, I can set one ring. Do you know how to set more than one ring?
when I type in 250 it sets it to 250,000 for whatever reason, but it looks right for 250 miles.
