[BaseCamp] If you want to test your Webex setup early

Chris,

The application will install a plug-in to your web browser. So yes, there
is something to download. Also the application uses pop-ups. Some browsers
have settings that prevent pop-ups. These will need to be bypassed. It's
usually easy to do, but there's no one-size-fits-all answer I can give you.
Everyone's setup is different.

Webex is widely used in corporate settings, where there's a IT staff that
makes sure this stuff works on everyone's computer. In our case we have
"bring your own device" and each person is responsible for making it work.
That's why we're giving you extra time to figure it out. There are plenty
of technical folks on the list, so if you have problems post them to the
list and the techies will try to help.

So why are we using Webex if it sometimes is a hassle? Because it's what my
company uses, and I get to host this shin-dig for free. If someone else
wants to set up the next one using a different app, they are more than
welcome. Please do.

Jerry
