Another question I have concerns waypoints getting dropped from my routes when transferring them from BaseCamp to my Zumo 550. This has happened occasionally in the past but on my last rally, half of the bonus locations did not appear on the route. Luckily I previewed the route on the Zumo and noticed there were a lot less flags than there should have been. I was able to manually add them to the Zumo but it seems crazy that something like that would even have to be checked.
My route in BC had 38 waypoints on it, including start location, finish location, rest location, and 35 bonus locations. It was 892 miles long with an elapsed time of 21:23. (On routes longer than 1,000 miles, I generally have to break the route into two parts so it will import successfully, but that is a question for another day)
When my route was imported on the Zumo, it showed 18 viapoints, which left 18 missing. The route goes past the waypoints but does not show as an orange flag on the Zumo as a waypoint. On some of the waypoints that were U-turns, the route doesn't go all the way to the bonus for the U-turn, it shows it 200-300 feet before reaching the bonus. From prior experience, I have found that it also does not give an audio alert for the waypoint as I happened to look at the map and see a bonus going by that I should be stopping at.
I tried breaking this route into two segments to see if that would help but it was even worse, dropping 19 between the two segments.
I am loading the route to the 2gb card in the Zumo.
What is going on?
TIA
