[BaseCamp] unpaved roads

Are you using a Motorcycle profile?  If so, try using an Automobile profile.
The routing algorithm may also be using the shortest distance.  Change it to
the fastest.    It does route me on gravel for me occasionally, but here's
where local knowledge can help.  In unknown territory, we're had. . .

I clearly have unpaved road marked as an avoidance in my routing
profiles..But Basecamp still routes me that way,  even if there are paved rd
to same place...Why is this happening....And is there to know if basecamp is
routing me down an unpaved road
