There were some other bits of hard-won List wisdom when replacing the carb rack:- Loosen the air box and pull it back towards the tail for more wiggle room- Loosen the throttle cables for more slack- If your carb boots are still flexible enough, roll them back for more room (I also slid the springs down from the mouth of the collar down to the narrow part so they don't slip off or go flying)
