I'm even thinking of selling my G650 XChallenge after spending a bunch getting it ready for anything. The Husky TE250 is sold, as is the Yam DRZ400, the Husky TR650 and the Kawi KLX250. I bought and sold each of them in turn looking for a perfect do-it-all bike. The TR650 came closest, but when KTM bought Husky and dropped it from production and service, it had to go. The CTX 700 is a great local road-ride bike, but could not handle even gravel. I dunno, maybe another KLR650. I've had 2 over the years and liked them both well enough - they do everything okay, but nothing really well. Sure wish I still had my '90 moonstone. Nobody makes anything that good any more.

>> Yikes! You gotta watch out for those Goldies! I’m going to start exploring the back and dirt roads around here for a route. John is wanting to get out and ride now that he’s feeling a little bit better (stupid bp meds gave him A-fib, so he is limited on energy now). I can get something together for September. I’ll start a new shirt design also.

The TA fired up and I was off. First the good news, the TA was a Honda! No skips, no sputters, no issues. Except a bit of burnt leaf smell. Transalp lived up to its reputation as needing as much maintenance as a hammer. The Bad news, my knee is not ready for prime time. The surgery was healing well until our 60 pound Golden body slammed it just over a week ago. It is getting better, but no quite there yet.
