Others may know better ways of doing the KML option, but here is what I
do. And yes, you are correct, KML is the file type that GE saves its data
as. So importing KML into GE makes it a quick upload and creation of a
route/waypoints on GE.

So what I do:
-open a new List in BaseCamp, so I have a blank sheet to start from
-find the route and/or waypoints that I want to view on GE in whatever BC
List that I already have them in.
-highlight said routes/waypoints in that BC List and drag 'n drop them into
that new blank BC List
-from that new blank List, go to File>Export and export the selected items
or the entire List depending on what all I have selected to view on GE
-when Save As that exported file, select KML as the file type. Remember
where you save it.
-open GE
-go to File>Import in GE
-browse for that saved exported file and click Open
-TA DA

The route and waypoints then show up on GE.
